3.0 Is Coming — Where We Stand

The short version: We're deep into rebuilding The Loot Lounge on 7 Days to Die 3.0, the biggest engine update the game has ever had. It's a massive job — but it's coming together, and we're targeting the new 3.0 server this Sunday or Monday night, depending on how testing goes.
Why 3.0 Is a Big Deal
Version 3.0 rebuilt the game engine under the hood, and every mod we run had to be brought forward to match it. The heavy lift was Project Z — its entire interface (item menus, backpack, buffs, icons) had to be re-ported piece by piece to work on the new engine and to play nicely alongside AEC's new 3.0 mods. Getting Project Z and AEC to run cleanly, side by side, on 3.0 took a serious amount of work — and that's the part that's had us heads-down.
What We've Done So Far
- Project Z fully ported to 3.0 — the entire UI rebuilt so menus, backpack, and icons work correctly on the new engine.
- AEC's new 3.0 mods running clean alongside Project Z — the two finally cooperate instead of fighting each other.
- Crafting is smooth — the AEC workstation that used to freeze the game now opens instantly, and crafting and repairs continue in the background so you can close the menu and keep playing.
- Full balance pass — weapons, armor, items, and leveling all scale properly, with top-tier gear gated so power tracks your progression.
- Spawns fixed — early areas no longer throw endgame bosses at you; the tough enemies live where they belong.
- Stability and crash fixes throughout.
When
We're aiming to bring the new 3.0 server online Sunday or Monday night — but only when it's genuinely ready. If testing turns up more to fix, we'll take the extra day rather than launch something half-baked. We'll announce the moment it goes live.
What Happens to the 2.6 Server
Right now, the 2.6 server stays online and completely untouched — keep playing and building while we finish 3.0. But please note: when the 3.0 port is ready, the 2.6 server will be wiped and relaunched as the new 3.0 world. That makes 3.0 a fresh start for everyone — new world, level 1, clean slate on the new engine. Enjoy 2.6 while it's here, and get ready for a fresh run when 3.0 drops.
Thank You
3.0 is a huge step up, and we want it done right, not done fast. Thanks for your patience while we get it there — it's going to be worth it.
