Patch 1.1 — New Bosses, Stability & Endgame Repairs

Another big one, and a candid one. We've pushed the endgame into its newest version and spent the last few days fixing the fallout. Everything below is new since the last update — for the earlier wipe fixes (one-shot protection, quest reliability, vending crashes, wildlife, exploits, quality-of-life), see the previous Patch Notes post.

A Note on the Endgame Mod — Please Read

We've updated the AEC endgame mod to its latest version — that's what brings the new bosses and the Nemesis system below. Straight talk, though: this mod, in this update and the ones before it, has been shipping with serious problems. It's the source of the recent freezes and a good chunk of the balance weirdness right now.

We're fixing it ourselves rather than waiting on anyone else — but it's a big, tangled job that touches almost everything, so expect us to be actively patching over the next several days to a week as we get it under control. Things may shift while we tune. The server is already in far better shape than it was a few days ago, and we're not stopping until it's solid. Thanks for riding it out with us.

What's New — The Nemesis Update 💀

The latest AEC version adds 21 new bosses, 50+ new zombies, a persistent Nemesis threat that evolves over time, and biome-invasion events — the endgame is a living, escalating fight now instead of a static grind. It also adds a new crafting station: the Necroforge Workbench.

Stability — The New Freeze, Fixed ✅

A fresh server-freeze crept in with the new high-tier content. A broken cosmetic effect on top-tier enemies never cleaned itself up, so when a pile of them died together it flooded the game and locked the server. We tracked it down and removed it — those freezes should be gone.

Endgame Crafting — Back From the Dead ✅

The crafting ladder was effectively broken: the endgame bench demanded boss "star" parts that had no reliable way to earn, so almost nobody could build it. We rebuilt the drop paths so the boss-hunt contracts you can actually run now hand you the parts you need, and plugged the ingredient gaps at every tier so you're not walled at the first upgrade. The whole tree is completable again.

Skill Progression — Restored and Improved 📚

Craftable skill books are back, and each one now grants 5 skill points instead of 1, at a fair cost. Points were nearly impossible to bank against the leveling curve — now they're within reach without being a giveaway. We also smoothed out the brief hitch some of you felt reading books after the update.

Forest — Re-Protected 🌲

The update reintroduced high-level enemies wandering into the starter forest. We've re-deployed starter-zone protection that caps difficulty in the pine forest so new players get a fair shot, and we're still tuning the last edge cases on the new version — if you spot something off, tell us.

New — Blood Moon Killer of the Week 🌕

Every blood moon, your kills are tallied on a brand-new Blood Moon Killer of the Week leaderboard. Top it and hold the title for the week — it resets weekly, so every horde night is a fresh run at the crown. Find it in the ESC menu and on the site.

Current Server Settings ⚙️

The Loot Lounge runs a hardcore-but-fair ruleset. Here's how the world is dialed in:

  • Combat — Ranged, Melee, Block, and Terrain Damage at 85%; Headshot Multiplier 85%; Player Damage Taken 150% (you're fragile, play smart); Zombie Feral Sense at night.
  • Progression — XP Multiplier 75%; 10 Quests per day; Loot Respawn every 5 days.
  • Death — Injured penalty; Backpack-Only drops; 25% durability loss on death.
  • World — 120-minute day cycle; Storm Frequency 50%; Air Drops every 1–7 days (night, with variance).
  • Economy — Player vending disabled; Jar Refund 50%.
  • Vehicles — Fuel Usage 125%; Self-Damage 150%; Entity Damage 75%; Block Damage 85%.

One Small Thing

A handful of brand-new items from the update may temporarily show their internal name instead of a proper label. Purely cosmetic — we'll clean it up shortly.
