Patch 2.3 - Horde Base and VIP Lounge
October 16, 2026 The Loot Lounge Team
Two things most of you asked for are live: a place to ride out a blood moon with other people, and a Lobby that is worth standing in. It is all running now.
The Horde Base
- A walled base in the open field, at about 1487 W, 405 N, marked on every map as "The Loot Lounge Horde Base". It is open to everyone for now. We can set a level limit later if we want it to be a starter base.
- It looks after itself. The base is checked every minute and put back every day, so nobody repairs anything and a blood moon cannot leave it broken.
- Starter chest. Canned beef, water, bandages and ammo, refilled every blood moon day.
- Inside the keep during a blood moon you heal a little faster, recover stamina a little faster, and earn 10% bonus XP.
- Supply chest. At midnight of a blood moon the roof chest is stocked with ammo, and it is announced in chat.
- Kill board. The top three players by kills inside the base during the horde.
- The Blood Moon King. The back of the big sign shows the king of the week in block letters, with this week's and last week's top players on the plaques below. With no king yet it reads "UP FOR GRABS". Long names are split over two lines and shortened with a dot.
/hordetakes you to the keep door from anywhere. Five-minute cooldown.- Getting there and back. A teleport pad on the west wall of the Lobby sends you to the Horde Base, and a pad by the keep's east door sends you back. Stand on the mat for three seconds.
The Lobby, rebuilt
- A new place to arrive. New characters now start at the top of the outside steps and look straight in through the front doors.
- The bartender. He gives every new character a first drink on the House, and VIPs their daily +10% XP drink.
- The Harbormaster has a desk in the gallery. He says the docks are not open yet. Season 3 is coming soon.
- The VIP Lounge (Bronze and up), with a Diamond deck upstairs, its own bar and a fast-travel mat that takes you back to the last trader you used (stand on it for three seconds). Non-members are walked back to the front desk.
- The VIP Concierge has a new look and a new item, the Chicken Wrap: one a day, about 1,200 Dukes, one hour of +10% XP, more stamina and a little more health. It does not stack with the bar's XP drink.
/lobbyis for everyone. Type it from anywhere except the Pit and you land on the red carpet. One minute between uses./startand/spawnare still the newcomer free ride to a trader.- Better light around the front desk, the bar and the staff, and the signs that were facing the wrong way are fixed.
- Map pins. The Lobby and the Horde Base are now marked for returning players too. Until now only brand-new characters got the pin.
A new look
- The HUD, the top bar and the ESC menu have a new textured look: scratched metal, gold brush strokes and blood-red accents, and the top bar turns red on blood moon day.
- The trader, loot, workstation, backpack, map, quest and death screens share the same look.
- The House panel is smaller, higher on the screen, and appears for 15 seconds when you join, change zone, start or finish an event, earn or spend, get a restart warning, or come back to the game after a menu. It no longer sits on your screen all the time.
The world
- Bosses are back in the desert, the snow and the wasteland. Since August a safety rule meant to protect the starter forest had been removing wandering bosses in every biome. It now covers only the three forests.
- The wasteland is more dangerous. More bosses, and stronger zombies can now spawn there.
- The snow has fewer bears and lions and more zombies.
- Blood moons have no boss limit. Patch 2.2 said at most two bosses per horde. That cap is gone, so a high-level group will see the full Project Z boss roster again.
Changed since 2.2
- Blood moon bosses are no longer capped at two (see above).
/lobbynow works for everyone and no longer sends newcomers to a trader./startand/spawnstill do.- Doc Calloway and Gus Tull now stand at their desks.
